Collection: Cold Wear Gear

Cold Weather Riding Gear – Face the Freeze, Dreaded Iron Style

When the frost bites and the wind howls, most riders head for shelter. But not you. Dreaded Iron’s Cold Weather Gear is built for those who ride year-round—through sleet, chill, and every bone-cutting gust the open road throws at you. This is not your average winter wear. This is rider-tested, storm-ready armor designed to keep you warm without sacrificing mobility or grit. Every piece in our cold weather lineup—jackets, base layers, thermal gloves, balaclavas, and windproof pants—is built to handle the worst and ride through it.  From the city streets to mountain passes, our cold weather gear doesn’t just survive the elements—it dominates them. Ride warm, ride hard, ride Dreaded Iron.

Height Measurement

Dial in your windshield height in 60 seconds

This is the clean, repeatable way to choose the right height for your body and your riding position — no charts, no guessing.

Bike on level ground Straight stick / level Tape measure
  • 1

    Sit naturally

Sit on your bike in your normal riding position. Look straight ahead — not up, not down.

  • 2

    Set your sight line

Hold the stick/level horizontally at the tip of your nose, extending forward over the dash.

  • 3

    Measure the gap

Measure from the top of your dash up to the bottom of the stick.

Your number = your windshield height

Whatever that measurement is, that’s the height you want to select. Round up to the nearest inch.

Example: If you measure 9.25", choose a 10" windshield.

Look over vs. look through

This method lands the top edge at your natural line of sight. From there it’s preference: look over (most popular) or look through (max coverage).

Between sizes?

Always round up. A slightly taller shield is easier to live with — especially at highway speed.
