Freedom Shields

Wind management for real touring miles

Built thicker, clearer, and shaped to control air before it reaches you. We help you choose height and tint the way a rider experiences them — on the road, not in a catalog.

Wind buffeting

It’s not just wind — it’s turbulent air

Helmet shake, ear pressure, and shoulder fatigue come from unstable air folding over the top of the shield. More height alone doesn’t fix it — the air has to be shaped before it reaches you.

What causes it

Factory shields are thin and flat. Air spills over the edge, collapses behind the screen, and hits your helmet as chop instead of a clean stream.

What Freedom Shields changes

Thicker material + true AirCurve recurve lifts and smooths the airflow, creating a calmer pocket instead of a pressure wall.

What you feel

Less helmet shake, clearer audio, lighter shoulders, and the kind of calm that makes long days feel shorter.

Tint

Choose tint the simple way

Tint is preference — it doesn’t change airflow. Pick it based on visibility and how you ride.

Clear

Maximum visibility in rain, night riding, and long multi-day tours. Ideal if you ride year-round or finish days after sunset.

All-conditions visibility

Light Smoke

Subtle glare reduction while staying very usable at dusk. A safe middle ground for mixed day and evening riding.

Balanced option

Medium Smoke

The sweet spot for most touring riders — cuts daytime glare without feeling too dark, and still comfortable for typical evening miles.

Most riders choose this

Dark Smoke

Aggressive look and strongest sun control. Best for riders who are primarily daylight only and want a deep, custom appearance.

Height

Choose height in 30 seconds

Ignore “tall vs short.” Choose based on where you want air to hit — and what you want to see over.

Look over the shield

You see the road over the top edge. Air hits higher and smoother. Best if you ride in heat, prefer airflow, and want a sporty touring feel.

Most riders start here

Look through the shield

Maximum wind protection and calm behind the bars. Best for cold weather, rain, long highway days, or riders who want the quietest pocket.

Quick rule
Sit on the bike in your normal riding posture. Draw a line from the end of your nose to where the dash starts using something like a level. Measure up from the dash and thats your height. Use the height grapgh inside the images on the product page. Road Glide & Street Glides measure diferently. Then choose a height that puts the top edge just below that line if you want to look over.
If you’re between two heights, pick the taller option for more calm — or Ask a Rider and we’ll help you choose.
