Measure From Your Riding Position — Not Your Height

Your overall height doesn't tell us exactly where your eyes sit behind a Tri Glide windshield. Seat height, torso length and riding posture all change your sightline. Sit naturally on the trike and use the measurement diagram on the exact windshield product before choosing a size.

Freedom offers Tri Glide windshield heights from approximately 5" through 16", depending on the application. The goal isn't automatically to choose taller — it's to put the top edge where it works with your normal riding position.

Set Up The Bike The Way You Actually Ride Use your normal seat, handlebars and riding position. If you normally ride with a backrest, sit against it the way you would on the highway.

Sit Naturally And Look Straight Ahead Don't stretch upward or slouch. Your normal eye position is what matters when deciding where the windshield top edge should land.

Freedom's general recommendation is to start with the top edge around tip-of-nose height while sitting normally.

That keeps your primary road view above the windshield while the AirCurve helps redirect airflow higher over your helmet.

A taller setup can create a larger protected pocket when maximum highway, cold-weather or passenger protection is the priority.

Just remember that rain, bugs and road grime matter more when your normal sightline passes through the windshield.

Think About Where The Air Goes Behind You

Your passenger sits higher and farther back than you do. A windshield setup that feels fine from the rider seat can still send turbulent air into the passenger. If you regularly tour two-up, don't make the decision from rider comfort alone.

BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE FILM

Confirm The Height From The Saddle First

Freedom Shields arrive with protective film on the windshield. Leave it in place until you've confirmed the fit, height and sightline from your normal riding position. If you're unsure, contact us before removing it.

Leave The Protective Film On Keep both sides protected while you check the windshield. Don't peel the film just because the shield has arrived.

Mount The Windshield Install it properly on the Tri Glide before judging the height. The shield needs to be sitting where it will actually ride.

Check Your Normal Sightline Sit naturally behind the bars and make sure the top edge lands where you expected it to relative to your normal road view.

Then Remove The Film Once you're confident in the fit and height, remove the protective film and enjoy the finished windshield.
DON'T GUESS AFTER THE FILM IS OFF
If the height doesn't look right, stop before removing the protective film. It's much easier to help with a possible size change while the windshield is still protected and in like-new condition.

Your first windshield size exchange is on us. Keep the protective film intact and the windshield in like-new condition. If the first height isn't right, contact us and we'll help you move into the better size.

STANDARD VS TOURING REMINDER
Height Isn't The Same As Width If the sightline feels right but you want more protection around your arms, shoulders or passenger, the profile choice may matter more than going taller.
Frequent Two-Up Rider? Consider passenger airflow before removing the film. The wider Touring profile may be the better fit if maximum coverage is the priority.
If you evaluate the windshield on the road before removing the film, only do so when visibility through and around the protected windshield is completely clear and safe.
