Windshield measurement guide Tap to enlarge

1. Sit on your bike in normal riding position.

2. Look straight ahead — not up or down.

3. With a level or something flat, draw a line from the tip of your nose to over your bike dash. You can also look straight ahead and choose the measurement you are looking directly at.

Tip: Not sure? Ask us before ordering — we’ll verify your setup.

Help choosing the right height before it ships Protective film test ride and exchange support Real rider support before and after the sale You’re not guessing on height alone — we help you choose a windshield setup that fits how you ride.
Most riders choose Medium Tint for the best balance of comfort, looks, and visibility.
What Height Do Most Riders Choose?
Most riders want to look over the windshield, not through it. That’s the biggest factor when choosing height. You’re not trying to hide behind the shield — you’re trying to stay comfortable while keeping a clear view of the road.
If You Want More Comfort
Go slightly taller. This pushes more wind over your head and reduces fatigue on longer rides, especially on the highway or with a passenger.
If You Want A Lower Look
Go slightly shorter. You’ll get a cleaner, more aggressive look and still benefit from the AirCurve, but you may feel a bit more wind depending on your setup.
Between Sizes?
Most riders lean toward the option that matches how they ride. Long-distance touring riders usually go a bit taller, while shorter rides or city riders often stay lower.
What Is AirCurve?
Freedom’s AirCurve is what makes these windshields ride different, not just look different. The recurve at the top helps drive airflow about 2–3 inches higher than a standard windshield so you get cleaner air, less buffeting, and a more comfortable ride without needing to go overly tall.
Better View Without Giving Up Comfort
Because the airflow is lifted higher, many riders can run a shorter windshield and still stay comfortable. That gives you a better view over the top without sacrificing real-world wind protection.
More Stability And Strength
Freedom Shields are thicker than stock and many aftermarket options, which helps with stability at speed and gives the shield a more solid feel on the bike.
Clearer, Better Finished
You get crystal-clear optical clarity, hand-polished edges, and a cleaner finished look than the cheap distorted shields riders get tired of fighting with.
Exchange & Test Ride Policy
You do not need to guess and hope. Your windshield arrives with protective film on both sides. Leave that film on, install the windshield, and take a short test ride as long as visibility is good. That gives you a real-world feel before fully committing.
Exchanges
The original purchaser can exchange for a different size for full credit on the windshield, as long as it is still in new condition, the protective film has not been removed, and it is returned in the original box with the original packaging.
Returns
Windshields can also be returned for full credit of the windshield under the same conditions. First exchage is on us as long as you speak with us before ordering. Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility, and a UPS return label can be provided inside the continental U.S. for $25, deducted from the refund.
Important Notes
Laser-engraved windshields are custom and cannot be exchanged or returned. For exchanges or returns, Return Authorization is required first through Freedom Shields before shipping anything back.
Which Tint Should I Choose?
Most riders choose Medium Tint. It gives you the most balanced look on the bike while still keeping visibility practical for normal day riding. Tint choice is mostly about looks and personal preference, not airflow.
Clear
Best if you want the brightest view through the shield or prefer the most open, factory-style look.
Light Tint
A subtle smoked look without going too dark. Good for riders who want a little style while keeping visibility very easy.
Dark Tint
Best for riders who want the darkest, most aggressive look. Choose this more for style than versatility.

Freedom Shields windshields for the Harley-Davidson Road Glide (2024–2026) are built for riders who put real miles on their bike and want cleaner airflow, reduced buffeting, and stable visibility on long rides.

Designed specifically for the updated Road Glide fairing platform, this windshield uses Freedom Shields’ proven AirCurve® recurve design to lift airflow up and over the rider more smoothly. The result is less helmet turbulence, reduced wind pressure on the chest, and a calmer ride at highway speeds, especially during extended touring.

Freedom Shields windshields are formed from thick, premium-grade acrylic to maintain rigidity and optical clarity at speed. The added thickness helps minimize flex and vibration compared to thinner windshields, keeping the shield stable and distortion-free in turbulent air or crosswinds.

Each windshield is made in the USA and designed with touring riders in mind—whether you ride solo, two-up, or load the bike for long-distance travel.

Touring and Sport Touring Styles

Freedom Shields offers two styles so riders can choose the balance of coverage and appearance that best matches their riding style:

  • Touring Style — Wider across the upper corners to deliver maximum wind protection and the quietest ride possible. Ideal for long-distance touring and riders prioritizing comfort on extended highway runs.

  • Sport Touring Style — Narrower profile with a more aggressive look, offering improved clearance for taller handlebars while still providing strong wind control and airflow management.

Both styles use the same AirCurve® recurve design and premium construction—the difference is overall coverage and profile.

Freedom Shields Questions

Are Freedom Shields windshields made in the USA?
Yes. Freedom Shields windshields are made in the USA using premium materials and rider-focused designs intended for real-world touring and long-distance riding.

What’s the difference between Touring and Sport Touring styles?

  • Touring Style windshields are wider across the upper corners to provide the most wind protection and quietest ride, especially for long highway miles or two-up riding.

  • Sport Touring Style windshields are trimmed narrower for a more aggressive look and improved clearance for taller handlebars, while still delivering effective wind management.

Both styles use the same AirCurve® recurve design and premium construction — the difference is coverage and profile.

How do I choose the correct windshield height?
Windshield height is a personal preference based on rider height, seat choice, riding position, and whether you prefer to look through or over the windshield. Height selection does not affect fitment — only airflow and visibility.

If you’re unsure, contact us through our Contact page and we’ll help you choose before ordering.

Do Freedom Shields windshields flex or distort at speed?
No. Freedom Shields are made from thick, premium acrylic designed to resist flexing, vibration, and visual distortion, even at highway speeds or in turbulent air.

What tint options are available?
Tint options vary by product and may include clear or tinted finishes. Tint choice affects appearance and light transmission but does not change fitment or wind performance.

What is the shipping timeframe?
Freedom Shields windshields are built to order. Please allow approximately 3 weeks for production and shipping. Free shipping is included.

What is the return policy?
Freedom Shields windshields are covered by a money-back guarantee if returned in new condition with the original protective plastic film still installed.

Completely Eliminated the Buffeting

I was dealing with constant helmet shake and wind pressure on the highway. After installing the Freedom Shield, it was a night-and-day difference. The buffeting is basically gone and the air now flows smoothly over my head. I can finally ride at highway speeds without feeling beat up.

Way Less Wind Noise — Can Hear My Music Again

The biggest difference for me was the wind noise. With my stock windshield, it was loud and exhausting. With the Freedom Shield, everything is calmer. I can actually hear my speakers and ride longer without fatigue.

Shorter Shield — Better Results

I went with a shorter shield than I expected and it works better than my taller stock one. I can see over it clearly, and the air still goes right over my helmet. It’s cleaner airflow, not just blocking wind.

Should Have Done This Sooner

This is one of those upgrades you don’t realize you need until you ride with it. The difference in comfort is huge. No more constant wind pressure or fighting the bike on long rides. I wish I would have done this years ago.
