Spend Less Time Fighting The Wiring

Internal wiring can be one of the most frustrating parts of a Harley handlebar swap. KST pre-wired options help remove a major part of that job so the install can stay cleaner and more straightforward.

Important: Pre-wired does not automatically mean every cable, brake line, clutch component, or extension on your bike will work with every bar height. Requirements can vary by year, model, and setup.

Start with your exact motorcycle year and selected bar height.

Fully pre-wired handlebars simplify the electrical portion of the installation, but your brake line, clutch components, controls, and other requirements can still change by year and height.

Product Fitment

1996–2023 Harley-Davidson Batwing Touring Street Glide (2006–2023), Electra Glide, Ultra Classic and Ultra Limited with the batwing fairing. Batwing trikes: confirm fitment with us first. Does not fit the 2023 CVO Street Glide or the 2024-newer Street Glide platform.

Installation Guidance by Model Year

1996–2013 Verify Before Ordering

2008–2013 Street Glide, 10″: KST states a 10″ bar installs with the stock brake, clutch and electrical.

2008–2013 Street Glide, 12″ and taller: KST states the brake, clutch and wiring all need to be extended.

1996–2007 and any 16″ rise: Contact us before ordering so we can confirm brake, clutch and wiring. The Fully Pre-Wired Bundle is 2014–2023 only.

2014–2020 Height Matters

10″ and 12″ Mayhem: KST states these install without replacing the brake or clutch. Bar Only needs KST wire extensions (plus heated-grip extensions if equipped); the Fully Pre-Wired Bundle replaces the wire extensions.

14″ Mayhem: KST states that on ABS models a 14″ can be installed with some simple rerouting of the brake and clutch. Final clearance and routing must be verified on the motorcycle.

2021–2023 Clutch Extension

10″ and 12″ Mayhem: KST states these install with the stock brake and clutch. Bar Only needs wire extensions (plus heated-grip extensions if applicable); Fully Pre-Wired replaces them.

14″ Mayhem: KST states the clutch cable must be extended or replaced. Choose a 14″ “Fully Pre-Wired 16-23 + 4″ Clutch Extension” option, which adds KST’s +4″ over-stock clutch extension.

Fully Pre-Wired Does Not Mean Every Installation Part Is Included

Fully pre-wired describes the compatible electrical wiring routed inside the handlebars. It does not automatically include every clutch cable, hydraulic line, brake line, control, or mechanical extension your motorcycle may require.

Does Your Bike Have Existing Modifications?

Aftermarket risers, custom controls, previously extended wiring, non-stock brake lines, clutch changes, relocated turn signals, or other cockpit modifications can change the requirements above.

Installation guidance assumes an otherwise factory-style handlebar, riser, control, brake, and clutch configuration.

Before Riding

Verify full steering movement in both directions
Confirm that wiring and lines do not stretch or bind
Check throttle operation at full left and right lock
Confirm clearance from the fairing and fuel tank
Follow the correct service information and torque specifications
