Do I need a tune with the 2-1 system?
Yes — to get what you’re paying for. The 2-1 improves scavenging and airflow, and the bike needs fuel and timing adjusted to match. It will run after install, but an EFI tune unlocks the real benefits: stronger torque, smoother throttle, and cooler running temps.
Is a 2-1 too loud for touring?
Not if it’s set up right. TAB 2-1 systems have an aggressive tone under throttle and settle down at cruise. Loudness is mostly about baffle choice and tune, not just the pipe. If you ride long days or two-up, tell us your priorities and we’ll help you pick the right setup.
