Super Shox Platinum RR1 Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks
Harley-Davidson Road Glide (2002–Present)
Super Shox RR1 rear shocks are hand-built in the USA and configured to the rider before shipping, with tuning focused on performance, response, and control — not soft, generic comfort.
Dreaded Iron Moto is an authorized U.S. Super Shox retailer, offering the same pricing as buying direct with added rider guidance and post-purchase support.
RR1 = Maximum Control + Remote Reservoir Adjustability
RR1 is the highest-performance option in the Super Shox lineup. The remote reservoir adds external damping adjustment, giving you more precise control over how the rear suspension reacts to:
-
rough pavement and broken roads
-
aggressive cornering and hard braking
-
loaded touring weight (gear + passenger)
-
higher-speed stability and traction
This is what performance-minded riders notice most: the bike stays planted, composed, and predictable when stock suspension starts to feel vague or unsettled.
SL vs LT — Choose Your Setup (Important)
RR1 is offered in two configurations depending on how much travel and control you want:
SL Shock (Stock Mount)
Direct bolt-on stock mount setup. Clean install, maximum performance feel, and increased stability without adding extra travel hardware.
LT Shock (Extra Travel + Relocation Kit Included)
Includes the relocation kit and adds additional travel for riders who want the most planted rear-end possible — especially for aggressive riding styles, rough roads, and loaded touring.
Both setups are built to maintain proper stance when correctly set up. LT is not a “lift kit” — it’s added travel and control.
Installation & Hardware
RR1 is a direct bolt-on system.
No permanent modifications are required. Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper setup and peak performance.
What RR1 Feels Like
RR1 delivers a firmer, more connected ride than SR1 or SR2. It’s built for riders who prioritize:
RR1 is Ideal For
-
Performance bagger riders
-
Aggressive / spirited riding styles
-
Riders who want maximum response and precision
-
Bikes set up for hard miles, fast riding, or performance touring
Spherical Bearing Mount (Performance Difference)
Super Shox uses a spherical bearing mount, allowing the shock to twist naturally as the bike leans. That means the suspension moves more freely under real riding conditions — improving traction, feel, and performance compared to stock rubber-bushing style mounts.
Ride Height & Shock Length
RR1 shock lengths are listed by real-world installed ride height once properly set up, not raw eye-to-eye measurements.
Because each set is built and configured to rider weight and load, it’s normal for uninstalled shocks to measure slightly longer. Once installed and set to the recommended baseline, the bike settles into its intended ride height with proper sag, geometry, and suspension travel.
Color Options
RR1 shocks are available in multiple color finishes, so you can match your build without sacrificing performance.
